Phenomenal Resource Worth Much More Than Its Price
This is simply a very well-thought-out, phenomenal resource for any business owner. I have yet to find any better book about writing sales copy except for Brian Keith Voiles' Advertising Magic. The steps Kennedy explains are simple and doable, and he has a gift for telling the nuts n' bolts of writing excellent sales letters. Get it

Wonderfully Simple, Limited by My Own Imagination
This book is an amazing resource for anyone who writes sales letters. I own a business that sells high dollar OD/HR consulting. I bought this book based upon the reviews it got from other readers and the title. At first, I was very disappointed because the book is really directed mostly at direct-mail, reach-out-and-grab-the-buyer type businesses with products or services for consumers. My target audience is much more sophisticated and specialized.

I put the book on my shelf until recently. I picked it up again, mostly forgetting what I didn't like about it the first time. I quickly remembered, but I kept looking for different and new ideas. I found them. All I needed to do was to open my mind and use my imagination on how I could incorporate the ideas he has and use them. The results were amazing! I realized I had limited myself because I was really looking for a letter I could simply copy and change. Once I dropped that attitude, my whole view of the book changed.

Also, the formula for writing a great sales letter is the same whether you are writing something like mine or other types of copy or sales letters...

I highly recommend buying this book. Use it in the right way and you will see results.

Responsible for Helping Me Make Millions in Sales!
This is, by far, the very best book you can ever get on the subject of sales letter writing. Dan Kennedy, a marketing genius in his own right, teaches you step-by-step in writing the best sales piece possible. He encourages you to write your own sales materials, even if you think you can't write, because only YOU know your product better than anyone else ever will. He shows you how to focus on benefits, not features. And ALWAYS tell people what's in it for them! Dan Kennedy is great. This book is great. If you can only get one sales letter writing book for the rest of your life, GET THIS ONE! If you want to learn how to write sales letters that will generate MILLIONS of dollars in sales...GET THIS BOOK!

The Defender's Study Bible: King James Version / Black Bonded Leather
Published in Hardcover by World Bible Pub Co (October, 1995)
Author: Henry Madison Morris
Average review score:

Easy to read, extensive notes
Bonus points for the larger type, easier to read than a lot of other bibles. Extensive notes that defend the accuracy and infallibilty of the Bible. A must have for anyone who is serious about studying the Authorized version of the Word of God.

The Best study Bible available
The Defenders Study Bible by Dr. Henry Morris is THE BEST Bible I have ever owned. I have been a Christian for most of my life and I own several different study Bibles but they all pale in comparison. Why? Because they compromise the word of God. In most of my other study Bibles, they make you doubt Gods word, especially in regarding the creation in Genesis by adding that the creation could have occurred over a longer period of time.

Dr. Morris verifies the six day creation with other bible verses. He doesn't rely on his beliefs, he relies on other scriptures for verification. The Lord would not need longer periods of time to create the world because he did it right the first time and does not need more time to let things "correct" themselves. He is a perfect God and he created a perfect world in six days. Why would God say six days when he meant something else? This is where faith plays a vital role in reading and interpreting the scriptures. You either believe God means exactly what he says or you don't. Satan compromised the word of God to Eve and look what happened. God means exactly what he says. Exactly.

Another plus is the scientific analysis of creation and the great flood. He describes using other scripture how the flood occured and the effects of the flood on the world scientifically. It really strengthens Gods word.

Having this Bible in the King James Version is comforting also because it is as close to the original Hebrew and Greek text as we can get. There is no interpretations. I compare verses from this Bible to my other Bibles and the changes are dramatic and sometimes entirely different. To me this can be dangerous.

In Job, some of my Bibles change the words Behemoth to Hippo or elephant and Leviathan to Alligator..... Now I have never seen a hippo or an elephant with a tail the size of a ceder tree, and I have never seen an alligator have smoke and fire come out of his mouth and nostrils.

I recommend this Bible and all of Dr. Morris' other books to all Christians, both new and old.

Unique, and one of a kind study tool
I have been using this Bible for 4 years for reference and study. Dr. Morris' notes have been a blessing through the years, especially the extensive notes in Genesis and the entire New Testament. This is the best specialty study Bible out there and I would recommend every Evangelical or Fundamentalist Christian who cares about the Bible, it's truths, and proofs for its truth add Dr. Morris'lifetime of passion for God and His Word to their study library.Plus it gets bonus points for only being available in the King James Bible. Dr. Morris is again consistent in his beliefs.

The People in the Attic: The Haunting of Doretta Johnson
Published in Hardcover by St. Martin's Press (October, 1995)
Authors: Doretta Johnson and Jim Henderson
Average review score:

Very enlightening - yet terrifying!
The haunting of Doretta Johnson is one of the most fear inciting stories I have ever read. I find myself pondering the family's situation, wondering 'what if.' I came to a point while I was reading this description of Doretta's experiences where I refused to read the book if I was alone. That's not the norm around here. I have been out on paranormal investigations, and yet I could not read that book alone. I highly recommend this book - to anyone interested in the paranormal.

Absolutely Terrifying!!!
Doretta Johnson's protrayal of her experiences was absolutely mind-blowing. I had to stop reading the book for about a week because I was getting horrible nightmares. The things that happened to Ashley were terrible... I admire the Johnson's courage and applaud them for the strength. Especially Doretta Johnson. Please write another book!

This book is one incredible read!
Rather you believe in the paranormal or not, this book will grab you and never let you go. This is absolutely the best book I have ever read, twice.((applause)) To Doretta Johnson. I just hope you write another great book in the near future. Your courage is only out shined by one thing, your remarkable intellence. Once more ((((APPLAUSE)))) for Doretta.

a maddie luver!
Picture Perfect is at the top of the charts for my madison finn collection. It is all about when Fiona wins 3 tickets to the Nikki concert. They also win backstage passes!! The problem is, is that aimee starts acting very strange. They also learn a lesson that no one is perfect. Will the concert be great.. or a total disaster?

One of the best!
I like all Madison Finn books but this one tops the charts. In Madison's town everyone is in the daze of Nikki, a pop star princess. She is perfect and beuituful, but thats only on her posters and in her magazines. Madison and her friends struggle to be "perfect", just like Nikki and many things go wrong, untill the finally relize its whats on the inside that counts.

Picture Perfect!
I am a huge fan of the From the Files of Madison Finn books and this is the latest book in the series that I have read so far. It is also my favourite book in the series because it deals with real life issues that teenage girls face today. Madison, Aimee, and Fiona all love the new pop sensation Nikki and when they find out that she is coming to Far Hills for a concert, they can't wait to get tickets. This will be their first concert and there are many problems facing them, like getting a responsible chaperone to take them to the concert. Also, Madison and Fiona start to realize that something is wrong with Aimee. She is not eating at all and she keeps saying that she's fat. I think this is a great book and if you are a fan of the series, you should definitely check it out!

The North Rim

I want to find a thousand atars when I arrive...
...when I arrive at the North Rim which is where I want to spend our honeymoon now, after reading Madison's book. We're getting married in Las Vegas, Nevada in September and we were going to honeymoon at the south rim... not anymore! The dance of a thousand stars will shine brightly once again when we open the door to room 306 and cross over into THE NORTH RIM!! Loved this book. Can't wait to read Latrobe's Crossing now.

The aftermath...
After stumbling upon this literary treat, i was left in wonderment as to the correlation with the author- and the main character...where did the author draw the line between her lead character, and her own life. I'm sure that many women can relate with Maggie, and after reading this novel, i recomend it to anyone willing and ready to read a complete, honest and exciting fiction that will keep your attention from the get go..

The North Rim, standing alone at the end of the trail
Loved the North Rim. Now I can't wait to check into Room 306 at the North Rim and relive the adventure all over again! Great easy read- Wasn't disappointed one bit. Book arrived right on schedule.

Five Star Family Book
This is a terrific book for sharing with yor family and almost every family likes movies. The analysis is quite inciteful and the movies choices are interesting and inspired. The lessons are good ones and easily followed by children and adults.

This Book is Wonderful!!
I just saw this book listed in my local paper and I ordered it right away because I have teens who are difficult to communicate with. Last night I actually sat down with my son and daughter and we watched "Scent of a Woman." We had a great discussion afterwards about cheating, friendships etc. This book was a god send. I recommend it to anyone with children who are tough to talk to. Thank you to the authors for this wonderful addition to our library.

Great for kids AND adults
I actually bought this book because I am always looking for great, meaningful movies to watch and when I saw it I thought this would be perfect!

Also - I passed it along to my friend who is a teacher and she has used it in her class for friday movie-days . . .

The Supper of the Lamb: A Culinary Reflection (Modern Library Food)
Published in Paperback by Modern Library (02 July, 2002)
Authors: Robert Farrar Capon, Ruth Reichl, Deborah Madison, and Robert Farrar Capon
Average review score:

A classic to return to again and again
This book was my first taste of Robert Farrar Capon's writings. One of those underground treasures which makes its way by word of mouth, The Supper of the Lamb was a seminal book in my spiritual and literary development, along with his book, The Parables of the Kingdom. It may include recipes, but The Supper of the Lamb is a cookbook for life.

Each chapter offers lyrical insight on what it means to be human. Read about cutting an onion in "The First Session" and you'll never take an onion for granted again. "Wave Breast and Heave Shoulder" is one of the most beautiful and biblical passages in the entire book. I have read the final pages of "The Burning Heart" many, many times and never fail to be moved. Some sections of the book are reminiscent of Annie Dillard's descriptive style in Pilgrim at Tinker Creek or some of the best of M.F.K. Fisher's writings. Capon's salty observations balance the high spirituality, creating a complex blend of philosophy and kitchen craft.

As Capon himself says, "We were given appetites, not to consume the world and forget it, but to taste its goodness and hunger to make it great." This book continues to inspire my writing, my cooking, and my spirituality. If you want a flavorful literary feast, buy The Supper of the Lamb. I highly recommend Robert Farrar Capon's other books as well. Each one is a treasure.

Eating with Bob Capon
I grew up around Bob Capon. My father is also an Episcopal priest, and our families often got together to break bread. The kitchen was the place to be. This book, which I hadn't read for many years, brought back lots of memories. Capon was one of the first "crazy" people I ever met. (I was around 9 years old.) I am a better person for it. Food and God. God and Food. They go together especially well in this book.

Ferial Cooking!
Lets face it...all of us who cook (unless we are filthy rich) do a lot of work with leftovers (Ferial cooking). Yet most folks buy cookbooks that give us these grand, one time and you're done (Festal cooking) recipes. This is not what you get from Robert Capon's "The Supper of the Lamb." This book is all about Ferial cooking--and proud of it.

Capon is a true wild man. He has become one of my favorite authors (His book Between Noon and Three is one of my top ten). "The Supper of the Lamb" is earlier, yet vintage Capon.

The book is indeed a cookbook. It is also so much more. What the reader will find here, besides the recipes, are reflections on life and reality. The theme of Ferial cooking is transferred to a kind of manifesto on Ferial living. Capon sees food, and life as well, through a lens of wonder.

Capon's book is really a recipe for living life more fully. While his recipes for food are great, it is this "larger" recipe that holds the greatest appeal for me.

I recommend "The Supper of the Lamb" to you with all my heart.
